In orbital fusion welding, it's imperative that the tube ends are perfectly square, clean, and burr-free so the resulting weld is defect free. While our SD series of stainless steel tube saws cut precisely, for best results tube ends require machining prior to orbital welding. Machining the open end of the pipe or tube is a process called squaring, or facing. Our tube-facing machine tools are the high-purity industry standard, delivering precise and repeatable results. They're used by process piping and high-purity installation professionals in Aerospace, Pharmaceuticals, Food & Beverage, semiconductors, and other industries. The SD series provides ease of use with quick clamping, with long-lasting precision clamping shells. The capabilities of our SD range include facing (or squaring) I-seam thin-walled stainless steel tubes and fittings, as well as unalloyed and low-alloyed steels and titanium. Users can select the appropriate clamping shells from the range of accessories for each diameter. The quick tool change system allows clamping shells and workpieces to be easily changed without additional equipment. All multi-functional tool cutting tool bits are two-sided, with a protective coating against premature tooling wear. This enables the preparation of tubes made of high-alloy, unalloyed, and low-alloy steels with high precision, quickly, and efficiently.
